I think that this is every album (not singles) up to September 1993, apart from the Dire Straits Box Set (released in Japan) and a few compilation albums. The following have been released since:BROTHERS IN CONVERSATIONLIVE AT THE BBCSULTANS OF SWING - THE VERY BEST OF DIRE STRAITS15 PRIVATE INVESTIGATIONS: THE BEST OF DIRE STRAITS & MARK KNOPFLEROther than that, they had a Warner Brothers Musical Show album, and a series of interviews released on CD (possibly also DVD), some time ago, but this does seem to be the complete Dire Straits album discography to 1993, for worldwide releases. Many thanks, when it's down I'll seed it for a time.

Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), David Knopfler (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), John Illsley (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Pick Withers (drums and percussion). The band became one of the world’s most commercially successful, with worldwide records sales of over 100 million.Their first hit single, “Sultans of Swing”, from their self-titled debut album, reached the top ten in the UK and US charts in 1978. They released a number of hit singles in the 1980s, such as “Private Investigations” (1983), “Money for Nothing” (1985), and “Walk of Life” (1985). Their most commercially successful album, Brothers in Arms (1985), has sold over 30 million copies, and was the first album to sell a million copies on the then-new compact disc (CD) format. Dire Straits’ sound drew from a variety of musical influences, including jazz, folk, and country, though mainly from the blues-rock of J. Despite the prominence of punk rock during the band’s early years, their stripped-down sound contrasted with punk, demonstrating a more “rootsy” influence that emerged from pub rock.
Many of Dire Straits’ compositions were melancholic.According to the Guinness Book of British Hit Albums, Dire Straits have spent over 1,100 weeks on the UK albums chart, ranking fifth all-time. Their career spanned 15 years. They split in 1988, reformed in 1991, and disbanded again in 1995 after Mark Knopfler launched his solo career full-time. There were several changes in personnel over both periods, with Mark Knopfler and Illsley as the only members who remained throughout the band’s career.
Dire Straits won four Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards—winning Best British Group twice, two MTV Video Music Awards, and various other music awards. The band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

To me Dire Straits is the best musical experience i have ever had. Since my youth i was in contact with that fine sound. I´m a kid of the Eighties, and i have heard a lot of eighties bands, but Dire Straits is special to me.
Dire Straits Discography Tpb
The main remarkable thing is the marvellous and precise gitarplay by Mark Knopfler. He combined various music-styles, like Rock-n-Roll, Folkmusic, Countryflair and a little Jazz. The drumming of the first drummer David 'Pick' Withers sounded very jazzy to me in comparison with the drumming of Terry Williams in the Eighties Line-Up. Terry was a very powerful rock-drummer. Former member of Welsh Rock-Band MAN. Whenever i was feeling bad or when i was in bad live-circumstances i have played my Dire Straits-records and i had been healed, rapidly. So Mark, thanks for three decades of finest music. Dire Straits are the vehicle for session guitar whiz Mark Knopfler, who first appeared as a member of Bob Dylan's band in the mid-1970s.
Dire Straits play well-behaved, rhythm-heavy radio-rock that gets all its personality from Knopfler's J.J. Cale-ish guitars and montone vocals. The classic rock radio staple 'Sultans of Swing' may be the best example of the band's art, featuring Knopfler's wry lyrics and laid-back, jiggering guitar lines. Their critical apex came with Making Movies in 1980, and its eerie, neon-lit masterpiece 'Skateaway.'
In 1985, the group attained massive star status with Brothers In Arms which yielded the hits 'Money For Nothing' and 'So Far Away. For me, brothers in arms was their best hit, former england wicket keeper jack russell had this played at his brothers funeral.a real poignant song and moving video.Knopfler's solo material is still very dire-straits-esque in structure, by that i mean its still northern, singalong, the type of music you would expect to hear on the itv series auf wiedersehen pet! But he still delivers with his trademark guitar riff and vocals, listen to why aye man and you'll hear what i mean!!
Still playing to this day he is an artist worth checking out.
No worries, glad to be of help. It is a bit slow mind, they don't have a large number of members. But, with bit of patience, there is some true quality you won't find elsewhere. They have (I think) every essential mix going back to the early '90s along with a shitload of John Peel sessions and Breezeblock mixes. Also many live sets from other radio stations.Enjoy!I agree about UKNova. Not as good as the box but I try and maintain a good ratio as they sometimes have some rare stuff you can't find elsewhere.
Too many options isn't a bad thing in my book! I know you're not a Demonoid fan because of the lower speeds and design but really it's not comparable to Pirate bay or isohunt. Most Demonoid torrents at least have a decent number of comments about them and advice as to whether the torrent works or is worth steering clear of. The big three public trackers are just a mess. Very difficult to navigate and search on and very little info and usually no way of resuscitating a torrent that has run out of seeds. There's one torrent on mininova I've been waiting for to become active for years, but I know it never will and I've never seen it anywhere else (just in case anyone has it it's that hilarious 1980s ninja TV series The Master, starring Lee Van Cleef; if anyone has it drop me a PM ).
